    Left footed midfielder who can play in the middle or out wide

    Born in Sillera on August 26 2004, Rubén López is a left-footed midfielder who can play either defensive midfield or in a more advanced midfield role. He came through the youth system at Deportivo and played a key role in the side's promotion to the Second Division in 2024. 

    In 2023/24 he played 19 games in the Primera Federación (17 in the regular league season and two in the championship play-offs), in which he scored a goal. He also played a game in the Copa del Rey. He had previously played 11 games with the development side in the Segunda Federación (scoring one goal).

    In the summer of 2024 he came to Barça Atlètic to bolster their options in the midfield.
