RCD Espanyol 5-0 Barça Atlètic: Defeat in the Copa Catalunya

Out of the Copa Catalunya. Barça Atlètic went down to a 5-0 defeat in the semi-final against city rivals Espanyol. After falling behind early on, Sergi Milà's team had no answer to the home side who take their place in the final.  

Early setback 

Barça Atlètic were on the ropes early on in the encounter with Mingo putting Espanyol ahead in the opening minute. The same player made it two with just five minutes gone at the Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque. Following such a poor start, it was an almost impossible task for Sergi Milà's side to get back into the game. 

Espanyol added two more goals before half time with Mingo completing a first half hat-trick. A long distance effort from Pol Bernabéu was all the visitors had to show for in the first 45 minutes. 

In the second half Espanyol keeper made a good save to prevent Aziz from pulling one back for Barça before Almansa made it 5-0 five minutes after the break. 

With the game lost, Barça dominated possession but could not find a way through and Espanyol eased their way to a place in the final.
