Barça Atlètic 2-0 Sestao River: More than just a win

Another step forward, as Barça Atlètic came away with a very important win as they seek to avoid the drop. Aleix Garrido and Jan Virgili scored the goals, and Ander Astralaga also played a key role in goal against Sestao River, who are now only four points ahead and one place above the relegation places.

Blaugrana possession, Basque chances – how the match began as Leandro Martínez hit the woodwork and Astralaga saved. However, the ball going into the net is what counts and Barça Atlètic's Pedro Soma and Aleix Garrido combined well for the latter to lift the ball over Herrerin (min 14).

The 1-0 suited Barça Atlètic wonderfully, but the visitors continued to miss chances when Astralaga wasn't making the saves. Sergi Milà's side then took the sting out of the game after the break by controlling the ball more.

Astralaga saves and Jan Virgili seals the win

This brought about a lull in the game up to the 70th minute, but when Jairo went one on one with the Barça Atlètic number one, there he was to prevent a Sestao goal again.

Jan Virgili then went close after a good pass by Dani Rodríguez, before a final push saw a Guille Fernández effort saved. However, Jan Virgili wasn't to be denied and his 88th minute goal (2-0) helped his side claim a vital three points and a second consecutive home win.
