Power forward
Chimezie Metu (March 22, 1997, Los Angeles, California, USA) started in the sport with the Trojans at the University of Southern California before turning professional.
He tried his luck at the NBA draft in 2018, when he was chosen in 49th position by the San Antonio Spurs, for whom he played his first few games in the NBA. After two seasons he signed for the Sacramento Kings (2020-23). He started the 2023/24 season with the Phoenix Suns, but in early 2024 he signed until the end of the season for the Detroit Pistons.
Usually a power forward, he can also play center from time to time. Albeit 2.08 metres tall, he is very athletic, mobile, powerful in the zone and can create from behind the three point arc.
The US man arrived at Barça in summer 2024 for his first experience in Europe.
