125th anniversary commissioner
On April 26, 2022, the Board of Directors approved the naming of David Carabén as Commissioner for the Club's 125th anniversary. His role will be to organise and develop the conceptual framework for celebrating this significant event, as well as define and drive the required relevant actions.
Born in Barcelona in 1971, David Carabén is a Political Sciences graduate, a singer, a guitar player, and a songwriter for the band, Mishima. He also writes sports columns and a weekly piece for La Vanguardia.
He directed and presented the 'Recorda Míster' programme on Barça TV and also directed 'L’habitació dels miralls' for the Club's official channel. He directed the programme, 'Nit a la terra' for the BTV television channel. In 2005 he wrote the book, 'La forma d'un sentit' (Editorial Empúries).
David Carabén is the son of Armand Carabén, lawyer and economist, who was FC Barcelona manager from 1970 to 1975 during Agustí Montal I Costa's presidency, when the Club turned towards democratization and Catalan culture. However, he is most remembered for signing Johan Cruyff and being one of the organisers of the events to celebrate the Club's 75th anniversary in 1974.
