FC Barcelona has reached an agreement with the Macedonian goalkeeper Borko Ristovski, currently playing for Rhein Neckar Lowen, beginning in the 2016/17 season until the end of the 2017/18 season.
Who is Borko Ristovski?
Borko Ristovski is a 33-year-old goalkeeper who was born in Skopje, Macedonia. He is 1.90 metres tall and, as a player for the Macedonia national team, he stands out for his sure-handedness between the pipes and for his vast experience in top-flight handball. Ristovski is a countryman of Barça's Kiril Lazarov.
Ristovski started playing handball with Rabotnicki in 1995 and played for Jug, RK Makedonija, Vardar Vatrostalna, and Metalurg Skopje.
He won the League and Cup with Vardar in 2001 and, in 2002, after winning the league again, he was voted best young athlete in Macedonia.
Asobal and return home
In 2006/07 Ristovski played for BM Algeciras and the following season with Teucro before returning to Macedonia to play with Metalurg, where he won his third league title.
At Metalurg he won the Cup in 2009 and signed for Vardar Skopje, where he played from 2010 until 2012. He then played for German club Gummersbach from 2012 to 2014.
One season with French side Creteil in 2014/15, and the current campaign with Rhein Neckar Lowen led him to where he'll be next season: FC Barcelona Lassa.
