Barça Lassa entertained Valencia at the Palau Blaugrana this Sunday, a match in which Seraphin and Sanders were the most incisive, helping Sito Alonso’s side achieve a second victory over the same opponent in less than 48 hours (79-74).
Despite a great win on Friday in European competition, Valencia were the leaders in the domestic competition coming into this game. Txus Vidorreta’s team went ahead through Tibor Pleiss, but Pressey and Heurtel ensured Barça Lassa kept within touching distance at the end of the first period (13-16, min 10).
Inventive play from Tomic, and Seraphin’s accuracy, saw Barça edge ahead (23-20, min 15), but baskets from San Emeterio and Erick Green made life difficult for the hosts. Missed three-pointers from Barça Lassa could’ve therefore proved costly, but Sanders' consistency saw the gap widen to eight points by the break (37 -29, min 20).
Valencia never gave up and came to within three (58-55, min 30), before Heurtel and Koponen gave Barça some breathing space again. Erick Green and Pleiss made the last few minutes very interesting (66-64, min 37), but with the Palau in full voice, Sanders and Seraphin - top scorer with 19 points - helped to seal the win. In the end, Barça Lassa find themselves second in the League with seven wins and two defeats.
