Barça Women controlled their game against Sevilla from start to finish, deservedly winning away from home (0-2). A penalty from Andressa Alves and a goal from Ruth Garcia in the last minute of the first half gave Fran Sanchez’s team the three points.
The visitors quickly imposed themselves in the match with Bussaglia twice going close. Alexia Putellas was also very active in attack, while Lieke Martens hit the post following a great move. Andressa Alves narrowly missed, while all Sevilla could manage was a shot from distance.
Continued pressure from the away side eventually got its reward as Martens won a clear penalty, Andressa Alves giving Barça Women the lead before Ruth Garcia added to the scoreline (min 45).
In the second half, the blaugrana dominated possession and were unlucky not to increase the lead further. Academy youngster, Candela Andújar, came on to debut with the first team at just 17 years of age. The win means that Barça Women move on to 31 points for the season.
