The Champions League is back again and FC Barcelona return to the top European competition against Juventus, the team that eliminated them in the last edition. The players from the first team trained this Monday in the last session before the match but Paco Alcácer, who has gastroenteritis, worked in the gym whilst his team mates were joined by Jokin Ezkieta of Barça B.
At the end of the session, Ernesto Valverde announced the squad list to face the Italian team, and he emphasised the presence of Sergi Roberto who was absent against Espanyol. Denis Suárez also returns to the list of 18 players called upon by the Blaugrana coach.
The complete list is as follows: Ter Stegen, Cillessen, Semedo, Piqué, Rakitić, Sergio, Denis, A. Iniesta, Suárez, Messi, Dembélé, Mascherano, Paulinho, Deulofeu, Jordi Alba, Sergi Roberto, André Gomes and Umtiti. Arda Turan, Alcácer and Rafinha will not play because of injury or illness, whilst Vermaelen, Digne and Aleix Vidal were left out by Valverde.
