Work doesn’t stop at Barça. After the match at San Mamés, the Blaugrana have already started preparing for the game against Olympiacos, corresponding to the fourth day of the group stage of the Champions League. Ernesto Valverde's men will travel to Greece on Monday aiming for a victory that will guarantee their passage into the knockout stage of the competition.
For this match, the Barça coach will not be able to count on the suspended Gerard Piqué or the injured Ousmane Dembélé, Rafinha, Aleix Vidal, Arda and Iniesta. However, Vermaelen’s medical discharge has been received and Mascherano (without medical discharge) travels, as do two players from Barça B, Ortolá and Aleñá.
So, the complete list of 20 players is: Ter Stegen, Cillessen, Ortolá (31), Semedo, Rakitic, Sergio, Denis Suárez, Suárez, Messi, Mascherano (without medical discharge), Paulinho, Deulofeu, Paco Alcácer , Jordi Alba, Digne, S. Roberto, André Gomes, Umtiti, Vermaelen and Aleñá (26).
On Sunday, the first team trained on the Tito Vilanova pitch at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, in the last training session before traveling to Greece. It was a recovery session for the starters at San Mamés and Vermaelen also joined in with his teammates. Barça B’s Moisés, Alfaro, Samu Araújo and Santi Bueno, as well as Iñaki Peña, from U19A, made up the numbers.
