2016 is coming to an end and UEFA have made public their breakthrough team from the group phases in the Champions League. The starting eleven has been selected based on who has made the best impression following the opening stage of Europe's premier competition. Barça's Samuel Umtiti and Sergi Roberto are two of the players who have been chosen by the European organisation having positively surprised the selectors with their excellent displays this campaign.
Umtiti arrived this summer from Olympique Lyon and he has played in four of the six group phase games Luis Enrique's team have faced, playing at a very high level at the centre of Barça's defence. Sergi Roberto has also proven himself this year and has excelled in the same number of games as the Frenchman as a full back.

Goalkeeper: Aréola (PSG)
Defenders: Sergi Roberto (Barça), Umtiti (Barça) and Lindelöf (Benfica)
Midfielders: Lemar (Mónaco), Kimmich (Bayern), Renato Sanches (Bayern), Guerriero (Borussia Dortmund)
