Mascherano signs contract extension, to stay with FC Barcelona through the 2018/19 season

Javier Mascherano put pen to paper on his improved contract extension with FC Barcelona, a deal that will keep him at the Club until 30 June 2019.
The signing was carried out in the presence of President Josep Maria Bartomeu, Sporting Vice President Jordi Mestre and Technical Secretary Robert Fernández.
One of the four FC Barcelona first team captains, the Argentinian arrived at the Club seven years ago and since then has made 290 appearances, including 176 in the league, 39 in the Copa del Rey, 59 in the UEFA Champions League, 10 in the Spanish Super Cup, 2 in the UEFA Super Cup and 4 in the FIFA Club World Cup.
One of the teams mainstays, the Argentina international has won no less than 17 trophies in his time so far with Barça. With the exception of the Club World Cup final against Santos in 2012, Mascherano has played in every Barça final since joining the Club.
