FC Barcelona face a tough challenge when they visit Borussia Park on Wednesday, knowing that Mönchengladbach have not lost there since 26 January.
Luis Enrique is well aware of the difficulty of the second Group C game of the season, describing the Germans’ home as “fearsome”. Here is what he said to the media.
“They are a fearsome side at home. Without the ball, they are capable of pressing a lot, they don’t give away the ball easily and for this we must be well positioned.”
“With the ball, they know what they have to do and they play well. They can hit the wings too, because they have fast players.”
Luis Enrique mentioned that it would be key “to make a good start to the game”. He also mentioned that “we are very clear that we must play a great game to win”.
“This happens sometimes in a player’s career and it will certainly be nice for him.”
“Ter Stegen faced the challenge of coming to Barça knowing how difficult it would be and he has improved his performance and he must continue to do so, because that is the objective of any professional.”
