After a two-day break, the first team got back to work on Wednesday morning with a training session at the Ciutat Esportiva. There’s no midweek fixture this week, but next Sunday brings the first away trip of the Liga season, to Bilbao to face Athletic Club.
The Tito Vilanova field was the venue for a workout involving all of the available members of the first team. Luis Enrique also decided to bring in José Suárez and Álex Carbonell from Barça B.
This was also the first day back at the club for Rafinha Alcántara, a happy man indeed after helping his country to the gold medal at the Rio Olympics. But the Brazilian has picked up a cold, so he was unable to train today. He’s been examined the club doctors, who will check on his progress once again on Thursday.
