Lluís Cortés takes over women's team
Former assistant manager to take over as head coach until the end of the season

Lluís Cortés is to replace Fran Sánchez as head coach of the FC Barcelona women’s team after the latter’s contract was terminated on Tuesday.
Born in Lleida, Catalonia in 1986, Cortés joined the club as an analyst in the summer of 2017 and until now was part of the assistant coaching team in the women’s football section.
He has extensive experience of the women’s game, having managed to Catalan U18, U16 and U12 teams, and the senior side from 2014 to 2018.
He holds degrees in the Science of Physical Education and Sport and in Advertising and Public Relations.
On Wednesday at 1.30pm CET, he will be officially presented at a press conference also featuring club director Maria Teixidor and sports manager Markel Zubizarreta.
