Messi: Finishing top was the objective
The Argentine scores goal number 106 in the Champions League and becomes the player who has scored most goals for one club in the competition

After the 2-1 win over PSV the FC Barcelona captain Leo Messi gave his vie won the victory: “We have achieved our objective of finishing top of a difficult group. We are really happy, it has been a tight group with tough away trips.” With regards to the last 16, the Argentine added, “we are always prepared but to talk about it now is difficult, we have to think about what is ahead calmly.”
With his goal in the win in the PSV Stadion, the Argentine now has 106 in the Champions League, the most anyone has scored with one club. On being informed of this new record, the Argentine explained: “I am delighted, I have just found out now. I am happy for this new stat.” The Barça number 10 also mentioned his part in Gerard Piqué’s goal. “The free kick didn’t come off but Gerard was in the area and he saw it and fortunately it went in but it was not something we had planned,” confessed Messi.
Summing up the game, the striker said: “In the first half we lost the ball and we gave them chances from set pieces where they were strong.” Finally, he concluded: “The most important thing was to win and finish first and we have done that with a game to spare so job done.”
