Three legendary Barça players, Laudrup, Eto'o and Iniesta recall their fondest moments in an El Clásico that they’ve played in at the Camp Nou. The former and the Cameroonian pick goals they’ve scored, while the genius from Fuentealbilla highlighted the 5-0 thrashing of Mourinho's Madrid.
"It was in January, and I remember I made it 1-0. It was a great goal for a non-scorer," Laudrup reminisced. El Clásico at the Camp Nou in 1990-1991 finished 2-1 in Barça’s favour. "I had scored a goal in a Barça-Madrid game and the next day everyone spoke of Spasic," Laudrup regrets with a smile.
Eto'o, like Laudrup, played for both teams and was always very motivated by the Clásicos. In the 2004-2005 season, Rijkaard’s Barça beat Madrid 3-0 in a great match at the Camp Nou in which Eto'o scored. "I said to myself: if they give me an opportunity, I will take it, and it was as if we played 1,000 players against 11,” recalled the Cameroonian striker.
Andres Iniesta, who on May 6 played in his last El Clásico at the Camp Nou, remembers with special affection the famous 5-0 against Mourinho’s Madrid in the 2010-2011 season. "We were better at everything and it was very satisfying to see us like that,” explained the midfielder, who also emphasised that "5-0 wasn’t easy.” In that game, Barça reached a level of excellence that left the football world in awe, and Iniesta recalls that "I had a great time and I enjoyed it a lot.”
