Ernesto Valverde was very pleased with the 4-0 win over PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League. Thanks to Lionel Messi’s hat-trick and a wonder goal from Dembélé, the team started well in a competition in which "errors are punished.” The coach praised the performance of his captain and acknowledged that "he does extraordinary things and makes them routine." Valverde also commented that "the goal in the 75th minute made it easier afterwards.”
Ter Stegen, Coutinho and Arthur also played well and the coach was delighted that the latter two were able to make their Champions League bow with Barça, along with Vidal and Lenglet. He emphasised that the players wanted to "correct the mistakes from the Real Sociedad game,” and was pleased with their perseverance until the final moments of the match.
