Leo Messi always looks for new challenges. On Saturday, the Argentinian star will have another chance to score at Valladolid’s stadium, where he has scored twice so far. The first came in the 2009/10 season in a game the blaugranes won 3-0. His most recent strike was scored in 2012/13 in a 3-1 win, following a fantastic team move led by Xavi.
The stadium has traditionally been somewhere FC Barcelona have enjoyed visiting with 16 victories, 6 wins, and 5 defeats. Carles Puyol debuted with the first team and Barça celebrated their tenth league title there in 1992. However, it hasn’t always been plain sailing and Ernesto Valverde will want to improve on the last match between the two teams when Valladolid won 1-0 in 2014 before they went down to Division 2A.
