Vicky Losada, a 25-year-old midfielder from Sabadell, Spain, has signed with FC Barcelona after spending the last two seasons with Arsenal Ladies, thus reuniting her with the Club she played at through various stages from 2006 to 2015.
Losada, who is beginning her fourth stint with Barça, has also played for Espanyol (2007/08), and the Western New York Flash (2014).
“I’m very happy to return home and, above all, to the club where I grew up,” she said after signing her new deal.
Losada is expected to provide leadership and experience to the team while reinforcing the attack with her knack for finding the net.
Her honours with Barça include four league championships and two Copa del Rey titles.
Losada’s return was made official on Tuesday morning, after which she took part in the team’s final training session before Wednesday’s Champions League match versus Twente.
Losada, however, will not be able to play since team rosters had already been finalised.
“I left to fulfil my goals and the English League looked like the right move for me,” she said. “I think I reached my objectives and…when Barça called I didn’t think twice.”
