The first team will return to training on 30 December and they will be free to enjoy the holidays once the final game of the year against Hércules has been played. The Copa del Rey round of 32 return leg will take place this Wednesday and the players will start their holidays on the 22nd. The squad will have a full seven days off to enjoy the festive season and they will get back to work on the 30th with a training session planned for 6.00pm CET.
Leo Messi, Luis Suárez, Neymar Jr and Gerard Piqué have been allowed to start their holidays earlier and their last club commitment of the year was Sunday's Barcelona derby.
FC Barcelona start 2017 with a trip to Villarreal on 8 January at 8.45pm CET. If the Catalans classify for the next Copa del Rey round at Hércules' expense they will start the year with the first leg of the round of 16 but the date and opposition is still not confirmed. If Luis Enrique's side progress in the cup they could play up to eight fixtures in January.
