FC Barcelona have recorded another excellent win, defeating Peníscola 6-1 at the Palau. The blaugranes came from a goal down in front of their own fans with Iván Rumbo giving the visitors the lead after just 30 seconds. In the third minute Andreu Plaza’s team were level with Marc Tolrà grabbing Barça’s reply. Barça keeper Juanjo did his best with several impressive saves to prevent Albert Canillas’ team from retaking the lead.
Barça, however, slowly regained the initiative and with six minutes to go until half time, Adolfo almost put them ahead. Just a minute later Ferrao did give the blaugranes the lead following a corner. Plaza’s team extended their advantage before the break with a strike from Quintela.
In the second half Barça did not take their foot off the gas and five minutes after the restart, Ferrao grabbed his second and a fourth for the home side. The same player went on to complete his sixth hat-trick to make it 5-1, slipping the ball expertly over advancing keeper Iker. Adolfo rounded off the win three minutes from time and the victory means Barça Lassa remain leaders for another week at least in the league.
