The North American point guard, Xavier Munford, has signed for Barça Lassa until the end of the season. The club and the player have reached an agreement which sees Munford arrive form Greensboro Swarm in the NBA D-League to strengthen the team
This Friday, the new Barça Lassa player passed his medical and will train later in the day with Barztokas’ team. The young point guard’s arrival will help alleviate some of the pressure the blaugranas are under following a campaign hampered by injuries, the latest being Alex Renfroe.
The 24-year-old has arrived from Greensboro Swarm, who play in the NBA D-League and are affiliated to the Charlotte Hornets. He has played 30 times for them and has an average of 18.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. He has also been picked in the D-League's All-Star team.
The North American played for Miami Dade College, Iowa Western and Rhode Island whilst at university but he wasn’t picked in the 2014 NBA draft. Since then he has played 122 games in the D-League with two different teams: the Bakersfield Jam, who are linked to the Phoenix Suns; and the previously mentioned Greensboro Swarm.
In the 2015/16 season, Munford played in 14 games during the regular league with the Memphis Grizzlies averaging 5.7 points and 17.4 minutes and he also appeared in four Play-off games in which he averaged over 22 minutes playing time and just below five points.
