Luis Suárez seems to excel even by his own amazing standards as each week goes by. Having recently made it to 100 goals in a Barça shirt, in a shorter period than even Leo Messi managed, he’s now matched his current manager Luis Enrique to become the 13th highest goalscorer in the Club's history.
The Asturian coach scored 109 goals for the side between 1996 and 2004, which is an impressive tally for a man who spent as many of his 300 games playing in midfield as he did as part of the forward line and for whom scoring goals was only a small part of his role.
The Uruguayan, meanwhile, is the archetypical out-and-out centre forward, so direct comparisons are somewhat unfair. Nevertheless, equalling that number in just 128 games over little more than two years is quite a staggering achievement.
Luis Suárez has scored 25 goals this season in 31 matches. And he has got 2017 off to a storming start with ten goals in just eleven games. The winner of last year’s Golden Shoe is on course for another spectacular season in front of goal, and is currently top of the Liga standings with 18 strikes.
