FC Barcelona Women claimed the Copa de la Reina trophy on Sunday with a 4-1 win over Atlético Madrid.
This brings an end to the reign of Xavi Llorens as manager in the best possible way, with a resounding win over a very capable side.
The game started with golden chances for Barça, first through Patri Guijarro and then via a play between Mariona Caldenteny and Alexia Putellas. All that was missing was the goal.
It eventually came through Jennifer Hermoso four minutes before the break to give Barça the lead they deserved.
And just after the restart, Jennifer Hermoso made it 2-0, after good work from Alexia Putellas. Sonia quickly halved the deficit to 2-1 but Barça restored their two-goal cushion through Alexia (3-1).
Aitana Bonmatí sealed the cup by making it 4-1 late on, giving Xavi Llorens the perfect send off as he departs from the first team bench.
