FC Barcelona B and Gimnàstic de Tarragona drew 0-0 at the Nou Estadi, in a Segunda A Division match that was originally scheduled for October 1 but which was postponed. Barça had several chances to win but were unlucky in front of goal. In addition, Ortolá was key for the visitors, pulling off some fantastic saves to keep the hosts at bay. With the point won, Gerard Lopez’s side have now gone four consecutive games without losing; three draws and a win.
Neither team dominated in the opening exchanges and it wasn’t until the 21st minute that Barreiro had the clearest chance for the locals. One on one with Ortolá, he allowed Palencia to get in a tackle, sending the ball out for a corner.
Roles were reversed shortly afterwards with Fali the guilty party for the blaugranes. The visitors came more into the game as half-time approached and José Arnaiz was twice denied by Dimitrievski.
The second half started in much the same way as the first with both teams fighting for control of the game. Cardona twice, and Sarsanedas both had decent opportunities to test Dimitrievsky, but luck wasn’t on their side on the day.
On 88 minutes, Brugui’s header looked like it would win the game for Gimnàstic, but Ortolá was equal to it, his great stop earning the visitors a valuable point.
