FC Barcelona’s gesture of sending Anthony Borges, the 15 year old who spent two months playing at the Barça Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2016, a club shirt signed by the first team players and inviting him to meet the squad has received extensive coverage around the world. The teenager, who originally hails from Venzuela, received five bullets in the back as he heroically helped 20 classmates take refuge during the tragic shooting at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High in Florida which claimed the lives of 14 students and three staff members.
Borges is currently recovering in hospital and the Club told his father Royer that it will be delighted to help his dream of a trip to Barcelona to meet the first team players come true.
