FC Barcelona Lassa tripped up by Zalgiris Kaunas, 90–74, in EuroLeague action

FC Barcelona Lassa came up short again in the EuroLeague on Thursday night, falling to Basketball Club Zalgiris, 90–74, in Kaunas, Lithuania.
Power forward Pierre Oriola led Barça with 18 points on 6-for-8 shooting from the field, including 2-for-3 from three-point land. Oriola was also perfect from the free throw line, going 4-for-4 in his team-high 29 minutes. He also grabbed 5 rebounds, 3 coming on the offensive end.
Center Ante Tomic chipped in with 11 points after going a perfect 5-for-5 from the field.
Forward Victor Claver snatched a game-high 7 rebounds. Thomas Heurtel’s 9 assists also led the game. Petteri Koponen added 10 points in the loss.
Zalgiris, meanwhile, which led by just 4 points at the end of the 1st quarter, 19–15, stretched their lead to ten points by halftime, 44–34. And by the start of the 4th quarter, the Lithuanians were up 70–50.
Axel Toupane led Zalgiris with 21 points, while Kevin Pangos chipped in with 18.
Zalgiris improved to 16–9 on the season and now sits in 4th place, while Barça fell to 7–17, and is in 15th place.
Barça returns home to the Palau Blaugrana for its next game, which comes on March 9 against the Serbian club, Red Star Belgrade. Tip-off is set for 9.00pm CET.
