Lionel Messi never ceases to amaze us. The Argentinian virtuoso was named the La Liga Player of the Month for April following a string of stellar performances in the season’s home stretch that helped FC Barcelona wrap up both the La Liga crown and the Copa del Rey.
Messi scored six goals in his four games played in April, which came in bunches—two hat tricks to be exact.
The 30-year-old Messi found the net three times against Leganés at Camp Nou and then again at Riazor versus Deportivo La Coruña in the game that clinched the league title for Barça.
Messi will officially receive the award before Sunday’s match against Real Sociedad at Camp Nou. The game is Barça’s last of the season and will serve as a farewell to captain Andrés Iniesta and to celebrate the team’s two titles achieved this season. Kickoff is scheduled for 8.45pm CEST.
