Barça Legends 0-2 Real Madrid Leyendas: Defeat in Mumbai
The Barça Legends have lost the Clásico in Mumbai, with Real Madrid Leyendas claiming a 2-0 win over a side that not only featured debutant Cocu, but also such household names as Puyol, Xavi and Rivaldo.
Second trip to India
The Barça Legends were back in India after previously visiting the country in 2018, and the excited crowd was entertained by some lovely football from the Catalans, although Vítor Baía was the most troubled of the goalkeepers early on and was beating in just the second meaningful attack by Madrid.
Rivaldo pushes for equaliser
Moments after Luis Figo had been denied by a fine save, Morientes delivered an unstoppable shot. Barça reacted well, with Xavi directing the midfield orchestra and Rivaldo creating all kinds of danger in attack.
Cocu debut
Two great efforts from the Brazilian went begging, and then after half-time we finally got to see Phillip Cocu on the field in a blaugrana jersey once again. Saviola made a valuable contribution after coming on, adding speed going forward, but it was Madrid who be getting the next goal too.
Beaten
David Barral outsmarted Puyol and De Boer and slipped the ball beneath replacement goalkeeper Angoy to make it 2-0 on 66 minutes. Giovanni was the standout figure as Barça tried to find a response in the closing minutes, but the efforts were in vain.
