Celta Fortuna 3-1 Barça Atlètic: No reward

Barça Atlètic went down to a 3-1 defeat in the Balaídos stadium against Celta Fortuna, the B side for Celta Vigo, despite a good performance which bodes well for the relegation battles to come in the next few weeks in the Primera Federación. 

Not a great start 

After their win against league leaders Cultural Leonesa last week, the blaugranes were in buoyant mood. However, in a rainy Vigo Barça got off to the worst possible start when defender Mbacke turned a cross past his own keeper with just 3 minutes gone. 

Despite the early setback, the blaugranes took it in their stride and after just 11 minutes they were back on level terms. A cross from Rubén López saw Iván Cédric get ahead of his man to head home and make it 1-1. 

Unlucky 

The blaugranes began to dominate and had chances to take the lead but six minutes before half time an excellent strike from Celta's Óscar Marcos made it 2-1 to the home side. Barça's Álvaro Cortés had the ball in the back of the net before half time but an offside flag meant the equaliser did not count. 

The second half started in the worst possible fashion for Barça when a mistake at the back allowed Hugo González to add a third for Celta just a minute after the restart. Guillermo had the ball in the net for the blaugranes but again it was ruled out, this time for handball. Barça did their best to get themselves back into the game but there was no way through for the visitors and they went down to a defeat that keeps them in the relegation zone. Nevertheless, there are still plenty of points to play for beginning at home to Sestao River on Sunday, kick off 6pm CEST.
