FC Barcelona fans are smiling. Hansi Flick has helped book FC Barcelona’s place in 2024/25 season Copa del Rey final. They went through after two legs of a frenetic semi-final against Atlético Madrid with the win at the Metropolitan stadium.
The final is also set to be just as intense, as it will be another El Clásico. Time to clear every agenda to leave April 26 free. It’s time for the 43rd Copa del Rey final, against the blaugranes’ perennial rivals.
Barça with most final appearances
It’s been four years since Barça reached a Copa del Rey final. FC Barcelona haven’t been one of the tournament’s finalists since 2021 and things are definitely looking up in the tournament now. The Club has 31 Copa del Rey wins so far, and they are set to make their 43rd appearance in a final. In fact, no other team can match this record.
It looks easy, but it isn’t. The four years without reaching the final are testament to just that for a team that was used to being in the cup final. After putting 10 consecutive years without reaching the final behind them (1998-2008), the blaugranes played the game for the title 10 times between 2009 and 2021. An almost consecutive set of appearances that brought the last seven trophies to the museum cabinet.
In the hunt for more titles
Now, Hansi Flick’s FC Barcelona have to beat Real Madrid to win their 32nd Copa del Rey. Step by step though. The all-whites will definitely be looking for revenge for the last two blaugrana wins in El Clásico. It’s another chapter between two great rivals and the eighth in a Copa del Rey final.
Let’s just take this moment in and smile first though. Qualifying for the 43rd Copa del Rey final has been arduous for all. But Flick’s Barça are irresistible and have left the tough semi-final against Atlético Madrid behind them. The winner will be crowned on April 26. The countdown has begun.
