One week until the Culer Walk

Inscriptions close on Sunday 16, with almost a 1,000 people already joining the event to celebrate the club's 125th anniversary and the millennium of Montserrat monastery

Just one week ahead of the Culer Walk, potential participants are reminded that inscriptions close on Sunday 16 at midnight, with almost a 1,000 people already joining the event to celebrate the club's 125th anniversary and the millennium of Montserrat monastery. All things suggest that a four-figure number of fans will eventually be taking part.

The walk is open to all fans and consists of two routes. The long 47 km one leaves the Estadi Johan Cruyff at midnight on Friday 21 March. Nine hours later, a 9am on Saturday, while the shorter 6.5 km walk joins in from Rambla de Collbató.

Most of the walkers should be arriving at Montserrat mid-morning. At 10am the Comparsa Blaugrana band will be playing outside the museum at the monastery, and at noon there will be sardana dancing led by the Colla Mirant al Cel. Then at 12.15pm there will be a short commemorative event in Plaça Santa Maria, including words from FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta and the reverend abbot Father Manel Gasch.

To end, at 1pm, mass will be held in the basilica. Anyone interested in attending should send an email to marchaculer@fcbarcelona.cat.

Shirt and bag

On Monday 17 March, everyone registered for the Culer Walk can come to the Auditori 1899 to collect their number and commemorative Nike shirt ready for the walk happening on the 22nd of the same month, with Montserrat Abbey as the final destination. Walkers will also receive a bag of goodies provided by FC Barcelona sponsors Damm, Bimbo, Prime, Rilastil and Coca-Cola.

The unique, technical design Nike shirt is one that can't be found in the shops. Meanwhile, the goodies include a bottle of Veri water, a 125th anniversary Estrella beer, Cero & cero cereals and seed sliced bread, a Prime hydration drink, Rilastil suncream, lemon flavoured Fuze Tea Zero and Aneto chicken broth. The cloth bag is an item itself, bearing the walk logo and containing a reusable Sant Joan Despí council cup, FC Barcelona stickers and an anniversary badge.
