FC Barcelona is in mourning ever since Saturday afternoon when the news arrived that first team doctor Carles Miñarro Garcia had passed away. The game with Osasuna on Sunday was postponed, and the team honoured his memory with a minute's silence before the Sunday training session.
On Monday, at the press conference prior to the Champions League clash with Benfica, Hansi Flick took the chance to say a few words about "a very sad loss. Carles was a great person, but also a great doctor. The combination was incredible for the club and for the team. He was a very important part of our success. We will miss him, but I am sure he will be helping us from up there. Now we want to win for him."
"It's a very difficult situation, but we want to do the right thing. The team is highly focused and getting over the situation. The best way to do that is by winning."
The pressroom respected a minute's silence before moving on to discussions about the match itself.

The club also honoured Miñarro with a minute's silence outside the club offices and the Medical Services, including president Joan Laporta and members of his board, staff and representatives of the different pro teams.
The futsal team is particularly moved by the loss, for that's the team where Miñarro worked before switching to the men's football team. On Monday the whole team gathered to remember their beloved 'Doc'.
Barça Atlètic, Barça Femeni, and the handball and basketball teams also honoured Carles Miñarro prior to their respective games on Sunday. The handball team also wore a black armband on their shirt.
