Five facts to know about Sevilla v Barça

On Sunday at 9pm CET, Barça take on a Sevilla side who are currently 12th in La Liga. The blaugranes won 5-1 back in October against the same opponents at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, and in recent seasons they have picked up good results in the Sánchez-Pizjuán stadium against Sevilla, never an easy ground to visit. We take a look at some interesting facts surrounding the blaugranes' vital clash with García Pimienta's team ahead of the trip to Andalusia. 

Good run at the Sánchez-Pizjuán

In the last few years Barça have picked up good results on their away trip to Sevilla, not having lost in the Sánchez-Pizjuán since October 2015. On Sunday, the blaugranes will be attempting to pick up at least a point for the ninth consecutive time in La Liga after five wins and three draws on their last eight visits. 

Lewandowski likes playing Sevilla

The Pole enjoys playing against the Andalusians as the statistics reflect. Lewandowski has faced the team from Seville on five occasions, scoring four goals, three of which have come in his last two games against Sevilla. 

Sevilla solid defensively 

Despite sitting in just 12th place in the league, Sevilla rank fifth in terms of clean sheets kept this season. Hansi Flick's team have a challenge ahead of them if they are to take the victory on Sunday. 

Goalscoring duo 

The game on Sunday will also see two of La Liga's top goalscorers face off: Robert Lewandowski and Dodi Lukébakio. Both players are amongst the top five goalscorers in the race to be 'Pitxixi' this season, the Pole in first place with 18 goals, and Sevilla's Belgian striker in fifth place with 9 goals in La Liga. 

Good goalscoring record at the Sánchez-Pizjuán

This season Sevilla have kept seven clean sheets in La Liga, ranking them fifth in the division. However, in recent seasons they have conceded in all but one of Barça's last five visits to the Sánchez-Pizjuán. In the last five meetings in Seville between the two clubs, Barça have won three times and drawn twice, scoring at least twice in each of the three wins.
