Lamine Yamal, innate dribbler

The FC Barcelona youngster set a new season record for dribble attempts against Alavés on Sunday

Lamine Yamal has a talent that has no limits. He played a key role in the 1-0 defeat of Alavés on Sunday at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, especially with his amazing ability to take on players with the ball at his feet. He made 20 dribble attempts in the game, the highest tally recorded this season in any of Europe's top five leagues.

More than half completed

One thing is attempting, another is pulling it off, and Lamine managed to complete no fewer than 11 of them, a score only topped by the 12 that Leicester City's Abdul Fatawu totalled at Old Trafford against Manchester United.

Second all-time

Only Neymar Jr has ever amassed more dribble attempts in a game for Barça than Lamine did on Sunday. The Brazilian did 24 in the Champions League Final of 2017 against Juventus, completing 15. Other high scorers have included Leo Messi (15) and Ousmane Dembélé (13).

What a player Lamine Yamal is turning out to be, for he now has more than 10 goals and assists against his name as well. Hansi Flick can feel fortunate indeed to enjoy the services of the extraordinary 17-year-old.
