FC Barcelona have hit on some fine form, putting five goals past both Real Madrid and Real Betis in the last few days, so this couldn't be a better time for a trip to Getafe on Saturday at 9pm CET. And with the goals flowing as they are, hopefully that means better fortunes at the Coliseum than in the last four visits, where Barça failed to score, not even once. There have only been three other instances in club history of the team drawing blanks so many times in a row at the same ground.
The Coliseum curse
The negative run began on 17 August 2020, when Barça lost 1-0 at Getafe. The three games played since then have all been 0-0 draws, equating to Getafe's best ever run at home to Barça, both in terms of not losing and not conceding goals.
Three other grounds
The joint worst run Barça ever had was from 1963 to 1968, when they went to San Mamés six times and failed to net a single time against Athletic Club. Then from 1975 to 1979 they went for the same number of matches without scoring against Salamanca... And then there was a four-match streak when Barça failed to score away to Sporting Gijón between 1982 and 1984.
Contrasting fortunes
Barça's recent league form has been disappointing, but after some fantastic results in other competitions to start 2025, they have found the form that should help to push them back up the table after losing the lead in December. Things are not going too well for Getafe, who are currently 15th in the table and just three points clear of relegation.
