Cultural Leonesa 1-1 Barça Atlètic: Draw away to the leaders

A point earned for Barça Atlètic at the Reino de León stadium away to Cultural Leonesa, leaders of Primera Federación Group 1. The blaugrana development side drew 1-1 after having conceded, Unai Hernández scoring his ninth of the season to level the game.

Tough start

An unlucky start for the blaugranes, as six minutes in Rubén López scored an own goal after a poor clearance that Kochen couldn't reach (1-0). All the same, Albert Sánchez's side rolled up their sleeves to take control of the ball, while Cultural Leonesa were looking to counter, with two dangerous attempts coming to nothing.

Score tied

Unai Hernández tied up the match with a real work of art. The blaugrana wideman made the most of a pass by Guille into space before chipping Bañuz superbly (1-1, min 16).

The game was now tied but the game pattern remained unchanged. The home side tested Kochen with three counterattacks, but the visitors kept pressing. This led to a penalty call after 41 minutes, when Presa felled Dani Rodríguez after good work down the right. Unai stepped up, but Bañuz guessed correctly to save. 1-1 at the break.

Leonesa pressure

Blaugrana control was lost after the break because the home side stepped up the intensity, controlled possession and generated chances. Manu Justo missed twice and a Satrústegui header hit the bar, but the visitors managed to resist the pressure and calm proceedings down to some extent.

Blaugrana resistance

The pressure increased in the final quarter of hour as you would expect from the leaders, Raúl Llona's side pushed and the blaugranes defended as they could. One final chance in added time saw Kochen make a great save to earn a very worthy point in León.

Next up, a match at the Estadi Johan Cruyff (19 January, kick-off 3.30pm CET) against Ponferradina to fulfil the Primera Federación matchday 20 fixture.
