Barça Women take off direction Madrid in Vueling's new plane

The new plane that takes the team to the capital for the Clásico bears the logo 'Dream, Play, Fly', capturing the spirit of a team at the elite of women's football

The Barça Women squad made the trip to Madrid on Saturday morning for one of the most awaited fixtures of the season, the Clásico against Real Madrid CF at 8pm CET at the Estadio Alfredo di Stefano. Aside from the footballing spectacle, the trip also has a special interest as it is the first for the team in the new Vueling Airbus A320 with its design incorporating the 'Dream, Play, Fly' logo and the blaugranes Aitana Bonmatí, Alexia Putellas, Caroline Graham Hansen, Salma Paralluelo, María León and Patri Guijarro

The new design is inspired by the careers of the Barça Women players: how they dreamed of playing football as little girls; how, through commitment and perseverance they were able to make that dream come true to become professionals and how now they wish to become standard bearers for future generations.

The inside of the plane recreates the design of a football pitch with the centre circles placed in the aisle. The headrests are personalised in blaugrana bearing the logo 'Dream, Play, Fly'. Furthermore, the windows bear a message linked the collaboration and on the outside of the fuselage, under the pilot's window, there is the inscription 'Blaugranes al vent.'

The collaboration between FC Barcelona and Vueling has become a leading alliance in the world of sport and aviation for its innovative character, its social commitment and its global reach. The agreement makes FC Barcelona the first club to have its women's first team projected on to an airplane on a regular route.

During the first few months since the agreement was signed, the Airbus A320 has accompanied the players on their domestic and European fixtures. It has also taken more than 125,000 passengers to more than 60 Vueling destinations across Europe. In total, more than 750 flights have covered more than 740,000 kilometres, giving great visibility to women's sport, one of the objectives of the agreement.
