Raphinha dazzling in Europe

The Brazilian has scored eight Champions League goals in 2024, matching Leo Messi's feat of 2019

Raphinha is on fire in the Champions League. In Belgrade, he scored yet again, his eighth goal of the calendar year, matching Leo Messi's brilliant tally in 2019. Following three goals against PSG last season, the Brazilian has also scored in the current edition against Young Boys, Bayern Munich (3) and now Crvena Zvezda

The record for Champions League goals in a single year is 13, set by Leo Messi in both 2012 and 2016.

Two games to go

Raphinha still has time to add to his own tally, with matches still to be played against Brest (November 26) and Borussia Dortmund (December 11). Robert Lewandowski, with seven goals of his own in 2024, will also be looking to build on his stats.

12 goals and 8 assists

This really has been an astonishing season so far for Raphinha, who has scored 12 goals and given 8 assists as part of an attacking threesome (completed by Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal) that has been producing goals like no others in Europe's biggest leagues.
