Barça One, FC Barcelona's free streaming platform, is putting the finishing touches to its main productions for the 24/25 season, and is presenting them on Thursday at the 'Moments Barça One. Stories that Inspire' event at the historic Estrella Damm Factory, attended by the club president, Joan Laporta, along with the stars of these new audiovisual projects: Fermín López, Alejandro Balde, Patri Guijarro, and Cata Coll.
The documentary series Origins, which explores the personal journeys and backgrounds of players from the men’s first team, has prepared two new episodes focused on Fermín and Balde. For López’s episode, the film crew traveled to his hometown, El Campillo, to capture the environment where the midfielder first discovered his passion for football. Balde’s episode is based closer to Spotify Camp Nou, taking viewers to the Barcelona neighborhood of La Verneda, where the defender grew up.
Gavi too
The next episodes of Born to Play, a series spotlighting the personal backgrounds of the women’s team players, feature Patri Guijarro and Cata Coll. Testimonies from family and sports figures bring viewers closer to these athletes, showing who they are and how they became integral parts of the world’s best football team. Patri Guijarro’s episode premieres this Thursday on Barça One.
At the event, hosted by Barça One journalist Mireia Germán, guests also enjoyed a preview of the episode featuring Aitana Bonmatí, the recent two-time Ballon d'Or winner, in an intimate and emotional portrait of the world’s top female footballer. A sneak peek was also shown of the second episode of Gavi. The Return—the young player was present at the event—following his long journey back to the pitch after injury. Gavi’s second episode also premieres this Thursday on Barça One.
Barça One worldwide
Toni Cruz, director of Barça Studios, spoke at the event about the successful reception of Barça One in its first six months, highlighting the popularity of The Next Generation, a four-part documentary series that tracks the men's first team during the 2023/24 season, focusing particularly on the younger contingent of players.
All the content presented on Thursday will be available in the coming months on Barça One, accessible on Smart TVs and smart devices across Europe, the United States, and Latin America. This expansion is boosting a project that democratizes the club’s audiovisual content, offering it for free on a global scale like never before. Live broadcasts, podcasts, on-demand matches, and a daily news show make Barça One a continuously growing platform for fans around the world.
