Vice President Elena Fort presents current status of the redevelopment work at the Assembly of Delegate Members

The work at Spotify Camp Nou is entering a crucial stage, with the return to the stadium imminent, when matches will be held while the final stages of the construction work are still going on. FC Barcelona vice president Elena Fort was at today's General Ordinary Assembly to update fans on the current state of progress. "The dream is coming true" she said, highlighting the significance of a major project that embodies the dreams of the whole Barça community and aspires to become a global benchmark.

Fort also spoke about the Palau Blaugrana project, which is advancing in parallel, as well as the redevelopment of the surrounding streets and the future Campus Barça. "We are finalizing the basic project for the Palau, and we hope to present it soon," she said, adding that it is the work of the architect Eduard Gascón, who was part of the winning team in the 2015 international architecture competition. The vice president also emphasized that the club “will prioritize the work on Spotify Camp Nou, considering that some of the materials recycled from the Miniestadi are being used to build the new stadium.”

Regarding the timeline for Spotify Camp Nou, the vice president reaffirmed the club's intentions, which were already announced at a press conference a few weeks ago. "The club is still working with the intention of having the stadium ready for a return by the end of 2024" she said, while also acknowledging the collaborative efforts with Barcelona City Council to push through the necessary licence approvals. The construction progress is becoming increasingly visible, with around 800 seats being installed every day in the first and second tiers, creating a distinct blaugrana pattern. Work is also advancing in the interiors of the stands, including partitioning of different spaces and the installation of essential infrastructure to prepare the stadium for its reopening.

"This is exciting, and we must realise that we are witnessing a historic milestone for our club," Fort remarked after showing a video of the progress since construction began in June 2023. She concluded by expressing her pride in being part of the current Board of Directors and commended "the courage of the president and the Board to redevelop the stadium during a very complex situation, as it will serve as the foundation for FC Barcelona's future."
