Coldplay, next band to feature on front of Barça jersey in association with Spotify

A new men’s football Clásico is coming up very soon on October 26, and as has become tradition of late with partner Spotify, it will also involve a change to the logo on the Barça jersey, once again set to shake up the world of sports partnerships. This time, the chosen band in association with Spotify is none other than one of the biggest and most renowned pop-rock groups on the planet, Coldplay. The limited edition jersey will also be worn by the women’s team in their match against Eibar on November 2.
The emblem that will appear on the jersey is inspired by the band’s tenth album ‘Moon Music’, which dropped on October 4 and has already spawned the singles ‘feelslikeimfallinginlove’ and ‘WE PRAY’ featuring Little Simz, Burna Boy, Elyanna, and TINI.
Coldplay is the most streamed British band of all time on Spotify, with 11 songs in the Spotify Billions Club, a set of tracks that have surpassed one billion streams each on the platform. Coldplay’s tunes are included in over 100 million user-generated playlists worldwide, and all Barça fans associate their song Viva la Vida with the men’s first team’s triumphs in 2009 when it became the soundtrack to a series of historic sporting achievements.
Like FC Barcelona, Coldplay brings together fans from across the world. This moment celebrates the unity of humanity and the joy felt in shared experiences - whether that be a football match or music concert. As an example of how the band unites people from across the world, the Moon Music logo that will feature on the FC Barcelona shirt was inspired by a design from a Coldplay fan.
Special charity shirts on sale
As is customary with these iconic logo changes, two exclusive editions of the match jersey will be available for purchase from this Friday 18 October at Barça Stores and via the club's e-commerce platform. Before that, a registration page for pre-sales is available; starting the pre-sale from Thursday 17 October at 11.30pm CEST until the physical stores open on Friday 18 October at 10am CEST.
One of the limited editions will consist of 1,899 units of the match-quality jersey featuring the Coldplay logo. Another, even more exclusive edition, consisting of only 22 match quality units will feature a fluorescent effect on the logo and will be signed by the starting players from both matches—the Clásico and the Liga F game.
FC Barcelona, Spotify, and Coldplay will also release a lifestyle clothing line this Friday, which will be available from Barça Stores and the club's e-commerce site. This merchandise will feature items such as t-shirts, hoodies and a scarf, incorporating motifs that combine the graphic imagery of Coldplay’s Moon Music and the corporate elements of FC Barcelona and Spotify.
Spotify, Coldplay and FC Barcelona will donate the proceeds from these collections to a joint project from the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR/ACNUR) and the FC Barcelona Foundation. The FC Barcelona Foundation and UNHCR/ACNUR recognize the power of sport to transform lives.

Coldplay's logo is the latest activation in the partnership between Spotify and FC Barcelona, which so uniquely connects the worlds of music and football. This is yet another example of how the alliance with Barça goes beyond mere branding, offering new platforms for artists and creating standout actions like the previous collaborations with KAROL G, The Rolling Stones, ROSALÍA and DRAKE.
