Barça 98-81 Manresa: Catalan champions

The first trophy of the season and of the Peñarroya eras

Barça have won the Catalan League thanks to an 18 point victory over Baxi Manresa in Sunday's final, the team's 25th title in this preseason competition and the third in a row. It was a game of progressive improvement, with the final period the best of all, and with the scoring led by Hernangomez (19) and Anderson (13).

Manresa led for much of the first period, but once Barça started nailing the threes, the game swung their way and they led +5 by the end of the first ten minutes (25-20). The gap could have quickly widened had it not bneen from some inspired basketball from Manresa's Alston, and it was still anyone's game at the turn (45-41).

Celebration time

But Barça had yet to find their best hoops, and that started coming in period three, which ended with a sizeable difference between the teams for the first time (73-56).

And despite Manresa going for some late heroics, Barça had found the form they'd been lacking early on and there was no stopping them now. It all ended with a comfortable win and a boost for morale ahead of the next challenge, the Endesa Super Cup.
