The first international break of the 2024/25 season sees FC Barcelona players heavily involved as always. After this weekend's week four fixtures in La Liga, seven blaugranes will head for international duty in the Nations League which gets under way in September whilst three more will be involved in U21 games and friendlies.
Nations League call ups
On Friday 30 August the Spain coach Luis de la Fuente called up Barça's Dani Olmo, Ferran Torres, Pedri and Lamine Yamal for his side's upcoming Nations League fixtures. The Euro2024 champions take on Serbia in Belgrade on Thursday 5 September at 8.45pm CEST and then face Switzerland in Geneva on Sunday 8 September, also at 8.45pm CEST.
Jules Kounde is in the France squad for their Nations League games against Italy and Belgium whilst keeper Ter Stegen is in the Germany squad for fixtures against Hungary and the Netherlands. Finally, Robert Lewandowski is in the Poland squad for their clashes with Scotland and Croatia.
Pablo Torre call up and the USMNT
Pablo Torre and Cubarsí have been called up to the Spain U21 squad, the former called up late to replace Fermín López who had been selected initially only to pick up an injury in training with Santi Denia's team. A first call up for Barça Atlètic keeper Diego Kochen to the US national squad for their upcoming friendlies against Canada and New Zealand makes it a round 10 the number of Barça players on international duty.
