The countdown begins to Saturday's La Liga debut for Barça as Hansi Flick's team take on Valencia in Mestalla, kick off 9.30pm CEST. "It won't be an easy game given Valencia are a good team who play attacking football," said the German coach in his pre-game press conference at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper on Friday. "We are really looking forward to this first game, it will be special," added Flick who will be facing his first competitive fixture as blaugrana boss.
For the game against Valencia there were plenty of questions for the new Barça coach, one of them on another new boy, Dani Olmo. "He's not an option for tomorrow as he has not trained much. First he has to train to be able to help us," said Flick. Pedri was another player who came up in the press conference. "He's a special player and he can change matches. He could be an option for the second half. He can help us a lot," added the coach.
"I hope was see a good show"
Beyond individuals, the German coach spoke about the team as a whole. "I believe in this team. There is a great atmosphere and everyone knows what they have to do. We are a strong team with a quality in possession and without it. We are working continuously towards winning," said the boss before concluding: "I hope we see a good show and we can win against Valencia."
