Youssoupha Fall, a 29-year-old Senegalese centre, is the latest addition to Joan Peñarroya's squad on a deal through to the end of the current season on 30 June 2025.
He arrives fresh from three seasons at ASVEL Villeurbanne in France, but he was born in Dakar on 12 January. His is the fifth new addition to the basketball roster after Kevin Punter, Justin Anderson, Juan Núñez and Chimezie Metu.
A versatile all-rounder, his towering 2.21 metres make him very hard to defend against. He also has EuroLeague experience and is no stranger to the ACB, having spent time at Baskonia in the past.
A product of the Seed Academy in Senegal, he first came to Europe in 2012 to join the youth system at Le Mans in France, eventually debuting for the senior side and playing in the Eurocup.
It was in 2018 that he was at Baskonia, from where he was loaned to Strasbourg IG. Back in Vitoria, he got to play in the EuroLeague, and was in the side that beat Barça to win the league. It was after that that he departed for ASVEL Villeurbanne.
He won the French title with that club in 2020/21. In his last season before the move to Barça, Fall averaged 8.8 points and 6.6 rebounds in EuroLeague play.
