The Barça futsal side were unable to celebrate the return of Ferrão after eight months out due to injury with a win as Betis took a 4-2 victory in the Palau Blaugrana. The defeat means that Jesús Velasco's team have a little less wriggle room if they want to remain in top spot in the league for the regular season.
Ferrão returns
Almost 4,000 fans were packed into the Palau to see the return of Ferrão to action after a serious Achilles injury in preseason. The Brazilian wore the captain's armband for the day but he could not stop Betis from taking the lead as early as the fourth minute.
Barça rallied and Erick made it 1-1 after eight minutes before Ferrão marked his return with a well taken goal on 12 minutes to put the home side ahead. Nevertheless, Betis levelled things up just a minute later with Rafa López making it 2-2 at half time.
Debut for Roger Garcia
At 16 years and 38 days, Roger Garcia became the youngest ever player to represent the Barça futsal team in the second half, just a month after his debut for the B team. However, he and his team mates could not stop Betis from forging ahead in the game to make it 3-2 in the 21st minute via Carrasco's goal. Coelho's dismissal made life even more difficult for the blaugranes and it was no surprise when Rafa López made it 4-2 to Betis on 32 minutes to close out the win for the visitors.
