Barça 11-1 Recam Làser CH Caldes: Goals galore!

Another goalfest at the Palau Blaugrana, Barça with a comfortable 11-1 win against Recam Láser CH Caldes, a match that Edu Castro's side controlled from the off. Next up, Sporting CP visit for the WSE Champions League quarter-final return leg and the chance to perform an epic comeback.

The best possible start

A very intense start from Barça saw Pau Bargalló finish low, assisted by Marc Grau with just two minutes on the clock (1-0). The approach again bore fruit a few minutes later, Sergi Panadero beating Arnau Martínez to place the second (2-0, min. 5), while Pau Bargalló recovered in the opponent's half to score the third on practically the next play (3-0, min. 6).

João Rodrigues may be departing at the end of the season, but he showed his quality yet again, scoring two goals in two minutes, the first a superb strike, scoring with his back to goal (4-0, min. 7), before sniffing out the second with still only eight minutes played (5-0, min. 8).

The calm... before another storm

The game calmed down after such a frenetic start but another storm was brewing and Sergi Llorca finished a wonderful assist, Marc Grau playing the pass through his legs with his back to goal (6-0, min. 19), with the latter going on to score next after the visiting keeper's error (7 -0, min 19).

Still time for more goals before the break, Pau Bargalló completing his hat-trick with a good goal on the half turn (8-0, min. 22). On the very next play, Caldes grabbed what would prove to be a consolation goal, through Adrià Ballart (8-1, min. 23). Barça in control at half-time

Victory confirmed

A blue card for João Rodrigues for a foul after the break could have proved a turning point, but Sergi Fernández saved Adrià Ballart's direct free hit, and the keeper went on to make several good saves to keep the scoreline unchanged. Pau Bargalló and Sergi Llorca then combined to score the ninth (9-1, min. 33), with Bargalló making it 10 on the very next play (10-1, min. 34).

João Rodrigues managed to complete his own hat-trick (11-1, min. 48) as the match was coming to an end, and Barça completed their big win. The ideal warm-up for the visit of Sporting CP to the Palau Blaugrana with a potentially special comeback on the cards.
