A big Thursday win at FC Bayern (79-87) was number 21 in the EuroLeague regular season for Barça and a result that gets them back on track after two successive setbacks. Jabari Parker led the scoring in a game that the team led by 22 at one point although it finished a lot closer in the end.
Barça had Laprovittola and Vesely to particularly thank for their early lead, and they spent most of the first period with a reasonable gap between themselves and the Germans, with the quarter ending 19-38, with top defence largely the key.
They kept their feet on the gas in defence and offence in the second period, and the game was just 16 minutes old when they has seared into a commanding +22 lead, half time arriving with an incontestable 30-47 on the scoreboard.
The third period saw a lot of that good work quickly undone as Bayern battled back to -13, whereupon the Catalans responded by banging the lead back up to +22. The blaugrana finally seemed to have the measure of Bayern, but the home side still had a trick or two up their sleeves. In the final period, bizarre as it felt, they closed the gap to just six with just 49 seconds to go. It would have been some comeback if they had managed it, but Barça stood their ground and are coming home victorious.
